Venorice L.
Riley
Jun 22, 1960 — Aug 16, 2026
Venorice Riley
Venorice “Bay Boy” Riley was born on June 22, 1960. He was a proud graduate of Denby High School, Class of 1978.
Following high school, Venorice began his career with Focus: HOPE. He later continued his education in college and went on to work as a manager at Mr. Allen Shoes. Throughout his life, Venorice was known for his determination, strong work ethic, and the meaningful relationships he built with those around him.
Venorice was a confessed Christian who believed in the Lord. He became a member of Miles Fellowship under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Freddie Minor. During his time at Miles Fellowship, Venorice was an active member of the Male Chorus and faithfully assisted in leading devotional services. His love for God and commitment to serving others were important parts of his life and legacy.
On Sunday, August 16, 2026, God called Venorice home from his earthly labor to his eternal rest.
Venorice was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Edward; his father, Samuel Edward; his brother, Leonard Edward; and his sisters, Betty McCullar and Michelle Edward.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: his daughter, Naya Edward; his adopted son, Kyle; his siblings, Queen Hope of Conyers, Georgia; Samuel Edward of Pontiac, Michigan; and Sandra Edward of Detroit, Michigan; his uncle, Leon Davenport of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and friends.
Though Venorice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his family finds comfort in knowing that he has gone home to be with the Lord. His life, faith, service to his church, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
