David Brown Chatman was born May 2,1963 to the union of Jesse James Chatman and Susie B. Chatman of Verbena, Alabama. David was the oldest of four children, Jessie, Leona, and Reginald. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Susie Chatman, brother Reginald Chatman and nephew Troy Abney. David was educated through the Verbena school system and accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized and became a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Verbena, Alabama. 

David was a multi-talented individual. Along the way he worked as an over the road truck driver and as an assembly line worker in multiple plants. He later earned his certificate as a mental health specialist and was later employed at the Team Mental Health Clinic as a mental health specialist. 

In his final days David enjoyed spending time at home with his family. One of his favorite things to do was to be outside playing with Boss Lady, (Zuri).
